Advocare International

Advocare International was started in 1992 in Carrollton, Texas. It is a health and wellness company similar to other health and wellness MLM's like Herbalife. The company offers over 50 health related items relating from weight loss to improved stamina. Advocare is a typical MLM that pays you for direct sales but also pressures you to sign up other members. It costs $50.00 to join and you receive several benefits, there is one in particular that I like it is called debtbusters. Debtbusters shows you how to make money using their system and then how to reduce your debt with your new income. Currently, Advocare has over 100,000 independent distributors in their system.

I can't imagine Advocare being any different from other MLMs from the standpoint of making money. The people that make the most money are the ones that can recruit the most people to join under them and make a residual income from those people sales. I have said this a hundred times, businesses like this require a certain type person for it to be successful. I do not intend to offend car salesmen but you have to have a little used car salesman in you to make MLM work. Someone that is shy and does not like to talk to complete strangers to ask them for their money needs to stay away.

Advocare touts a high number of professional and college athletes that use their products. I have not been able to find any that are promoting Advocare products in my research. I have, however, by researching on Google found several people that were distributors and quit because of the high pressure tactics Advocare uses. They referred to almost daily phone calls to check in and see if the distributors were contacting new potential members. This is what gets me with these types of businesses; they seem to care more about recruitment than they do sales. I personally, do not want to spend my time trying to convince someone who is not the type to start into a sales type business. I would rather try to sell them some of my products and make a dollar. If the products are of high quality then maybe I just picked up a lifetime customer! Now, what is a lifetime customer worth? A bunch I can tell ya!

Sorry about the lecture but most MLMs have the wrong concept in my opinion. They put recruitment before sales and I think it should be the other way around.

Advocare is a company that I would not like to be involved in because of the high pressure tactics. That is not my cup of Tea!

I will have to give Advocare International one thumbs up and one thumbs down.
