EcoQuest

EcoQuest is a company that markets air purifiers, water purifiers, nutritional supplements, and skin-care products through it's 150,000 plus contract distributors. Actually, EcoQuest is a spin off company from Alpine and the current CEO was an executive with Alpine before the company changed its name.

Alpine has had its share of troubles with state and federal government in the past. In the late 1990's the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled against the company and charged them with making false and misleading health claims about their products. Later in 2000 EcoQuest and Alpine were named in a complaint by the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Justice department regarding the same kinds of false and misleading health claims. A federal judge ordered them to stop making claims that their machines could provide relief for various medical conditions. Alpine sued the Federal Trade Commission siting harassment and in turn was counter sued by the FTC and was ordered to pay $1.49 million dollars based on it's false and misleading claims.

EcoQuest claims to operate its business in an Evangelical-Christian based approach. The company markets their products to their distributors on a wholesale pricing structure. The distributor makes his/her money by selling the companies products for retail price and by building other distributors under them to make a percentage of their sales. EcoQuest seems to be a typical MLM program to me. If you are the personality type that can make direct sales and recruit others into the business then you stand a chance to make some money.

Personally, EcoQuest has too much baggage and historical problems with the law for my taste. This company would not be high on my list as a potential business opportunity. If you are looking for an MLM opportunity there are others out there that do not have this kind of legal problems dragging them down?

I would recommend that you stay away from EcoQuest and look at some other ventures.
