ForMor International
ForMor International is another health and wellness MLM that was started in 1996 by the Goss family. Stephen Goss is the Conway, Arkansas Company President. They claim a commitment to part-time distributors and say they have developed a compensation plan that will allow that part-time distributor to make a full time income. The company touts a 60% actual payout to its distributors.
The ForMor Company markets a full line of nutritional supplements, beauty aids, and skin care products. ForMor has run into problems with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the last few years by making false and unsubstantial claims on some of their products. In a report by Dr. Stephen Barrett, M.D. it is noted that the FTC charged the company with making false and unsubstantiated claims about its products that include colloidal silver, shark cartilage, and St. John's Wort. The false claims included in the FTC report are as follows:
- Ingestion of colloidal silver is proven effective against over 650 infectious diseases with no known side effects.
- Colloidal silver is effective against arthritis, cancer, blood poisoning, shingles, and the report includes several other diseases that I will not include to the length of the list.
- But, this gives you the idea of the types of misleading information the company put out.
- Shark Cartilage is effective against arthritis and other joint related illnesses.
- Ingestion of St. John's Kava Kava, a product of St. John's Wort, is effective in the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
- Ingestion of St. John's Kava Kava has no serious drug interactions.
The FTC said that these claims have no scientific evidence to back them up. ForMor reached an agreement with the FTC and agreed to stop all claims and to notify all purchasers of St.John's Kava Kava, Colloidal Silver, and Ultimate II Shark Cartilage informing them of the FTC settlement and requiring them to give refunds to all purchasers upon request for the time frame specified.
I do not like companies that use unsubstantiated claims about their products as a marketing tool. It seems dishonest to me! I can not see any real difference in this MLM Company and the hundreds of others out there except for the fact some of them are not lying about the effectiveness of their product.
Like any other MLM if you are going to make any real money, especially the amounts they say you can, you have to build a network of distributors to be successful. If you are the kind of person that likes MLM then I would look for another network marketing company and stay away from ForMor because of the false claims about their products.
If you are not an MLMer then definitely stay away!
