Free Traffic

Free traffic to your site is a GREAT thing BUT only if it is TARGETED traffic. It is a total waste of time to get non-targeted traffic to your site. The reason for that is because it does not translate into sales. That is why you should never utilize the gimmick free traffic sites that promise to send you thousands of free hits per month. You might get the clicks but the results will be terrible.

These scam sites do not send you targeted traffic they just send traffic. Most of the people that will visit your site will have no interest at all in what you have to offer. Therefore, they DO NOT buy anything but you did get a ton of free traffic!

If you have a site that sells golf clubs and accessories you want people that play golf to visit your site. What do think is going to happen if 30,000 people that do not play golf and have NO need for golf clubs or golf balls visit your site a month? I can tell you chances are nothing is going to happen. They're just going to hit the back button and your sales report is going to have a big goose egg on it.

On the other hand, what if you have 30,000 people a month come to your site and every one of them is a golf enthusiast? I would venture to say that you are going to have a good conversion rate and your sales report is going to be very, very large at the end of the month.

Free traffic is a great thing if it the right kind but it has to be targeted. The secret to the internet is about getting highly targeted traffic to your site and letting your content make the sale for you.

I would rather have 30,000 laser targeted visitors a month then 500,000 that are just surfers.

There are lots of free traffic techniques like viral marketing and reciprocal linking but they only work when they are applied to a highly targeted consumer group. Just remember to stay focused on your target and you will be successful.
