The company needs the data to target a product for a certain market or to get consumer information on a product before taking it to market. You, as the survey taker, get cash or some type of prize for your time. There are sites that you can sign up with that will charge you in the neighborhood of $30-$40 dollars to get access to sign up with all of these companies seeking survey applicants.

It truly is a simple concept and many of the surveys are from brand name, highly respectable companies. Some people claim to make a full time income from filling out surveys. However, my wife tried it and most of them only wanted to pay a small amount or just offered some type of prize.

In order to make a living from this business opportunity you would have to sign up with lots of companies and get other people, like family members involved. The reason is many of these surveys are looking for people in certain demographics and more than likely you will only fit a small number of these. So if you get your sister, husband, and in-laws you will have a larger demographic and in return you will get more survey opportunities.

Based on the results I saw with my wife I would not try to make a full time income from this and quit my day job. If you are just looking for some extra shopping money this could be a good fit.
