This is a great marketing tool that can lead to huge results in your long term marketing plans. You see Internet Marketing is about getting a high volume of targeted traffic to your website. Now there are several ways to do this and we have already discussed many of them. The marketing gurus do NOT want you to know most of this stuff by the way. They act like it is all a big secret even though it is plastered all over the web. You can pay for traffic, which is an absolute must for brand new sites, or you can implement strategies that will send you free traffic. Just remember that free traffic takes longer to get that is why you should always start by paying for it.

There are several free traffic strategies but for this article we are going to focus on Viral Marketing. Viral Marketing is simply giving something of value away for FREE. Now I know you're asking yourself "give something away" I thought the concept was to make money? The concept is to make money but we can by giving something away for FREE. It could be anything, an e-book, a mini-course, or just about anything. The secret is that what we give away is encoded with our website address or the products and services we provide.

Let's say we are going to give away a FREE e-book from our site. Now our site is fishing site and this e-book is a free mini-course on the "10 Best Ways to Land a Record Large Mouth Bass". Everyone that comes to our fishing website can down load this e-book for FREE. This is the beautiful part, you see when we wrote the book we placed several links and advertisements in the e-book and every one of them promote our fishing website. This works a couple of ways:

• First, we have given people a FREE high quality (it needs to be good) e-book that they can learn from. This builds trust with your customers and will translate into more sales down the road.
• Second, there are several links in the e-book back to our site that promote products or services that we provide. It can be affiliate programs that you promote as well. This can lead to sales from the products you have advertised in the e-book that you gave away for FREE.
• Third, people may pass the e-book on to friends and all of the sudden your e-book is spreading across the internet like wildfire!!
